Sister Sunday: Super Bowl Edition

a place reserved for the loveliest person I know
on the loveliest day of the week

Guys, guys, guys!  It is the biggest, most important day of the year! No, not Super Bowl Sunday. Even better... Sister Sunday!

It is everything you have been waiting for and more.  We are just as entertaining as football but way less dishonest |deflategate... what?!?!|  and way less aggressive |well, except that one time Nikki slammed my head into a bunk bed when we were young... but I digress|.

So, remember how we said in last week's post how excited we were because Sister Sunday meant we got to hang out every Sunday?  Welp, that plan didn't even last a whole week.  Mother Nature had a plan of her own.  A bit of a surprise snow storm came overnight and, alas, Nikki and I are completing Sister Sunday from our two separate couches.

This "snowprise" has rendered me a bit stranded - apparently cars don't do very well in snow after being rear-ended by giant pick-up trucks.  |Read the post about my recent accident here| And by stranded I mean cozied up on the couch and not feeling one bit guilty that I am getting caught up on my blogging game.

However, we know on this momentous Sunday, most of your butts are not glued to the couch spending time writing.

In fact, most of you are on the couch watching the biggest showdown of the year; rooting for your favorite team, screaming at the top of your lungs, losing all sense of human decency in the name of the one and only...

No, that's not right is it?  Bah.

I guess the mix-up above is why this "Sister Sunday: Super Bowl Edition" needs to be posted.  It is time we come clean with the world, it is time to remove the veil, it is time to admit something to our loyal Sister Sunday readers...

|Deep Breath...|

Nikki and I are very different.

There, we said it.
Oh, wait, we already said that last week. Shoot.

Well, never are our differences more apparent, than when it comes to football. |Like, so different that I had to Google if "Super Bowl" was one or two words before writing this post, whereas Nikki can tell you the roman numeral associated with that year's game without even batting an eye- crazy talk!|

So, on this Super Bowl Sunday, we present to you:

Our Top 5 Favorite Things About the Super Bowl

Nikki:
1. A good Super Bowl party - and by good I mean my favorite IPA, a room full of screaming sports fanatics, and smack talking with the best of 'em.

2. Showing up the guys with all of my sports knowledge - the latest injuries, the top players, and the ever-so-popular topic of Fantasy Football. |Don't underestimate me just because I  look like I know nothing about sports|

3. The good ol' American competition.  Who doesn't love seeing a bunch of grown men, in tight pants slam into one another all in the name of "winning"?

4.  Although this a depressing Super Bowl for me |Broncos aren't playing and I am forced to watch my two least favorite teams fight it out| there is still some victory in watching the Patriots get their butts kicked! |fingers crossed|

5. Watching to see what the sideline reporters will be wearing. I may be into sports but come on, I'm still a girl.  Those lucky biotches.

Jess:
1. A good Super Bowl party - and by good I mean Pinterest-inspired appetizers that are coordinated with the team's colors.

2. Silently playing games in my head like: the "mascot that would beat the other mascot in a battle will be the team that wins" game. Or, the "date one, marry one, kill one" game with the different players. Or, the "why on earth did they put those two colors together on a uniform?" game.

3. Any military themed commercial.  There is nothing like being that one awkward lady ugly crying at a Super Bowl party.   #Winning

4. Any excuse not to do my Sunday night grading before school on Monday is a good enough excuse for me.  The kids/parents can't argue with "but...the Super Bowl".

5. When it is over.  I can only pretend for so long.

Happy Sunday!  Hope your team wins, unless they are that one team.

Hugs & -ish

Jess & Nikki
